WOW! What a great season. For the second year in a row, the LHS Rebel Band was undefeated in the Michigan Scholastic circuit. We performed at the Michigan Tournament of Bands, at our neighboring Wyoming Park High School. The Rebels would have taken 1st place in Class D by default, as we were the only entrees. So, we stepped it up to Class C, and still swept all the caption awards (except color guard, as we do not have one).
The next weekend, we performed at Grandville High School, and again swept the captions for Class D. We were on a high. The Rebels then faced a tough panel of judges at the Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association Marching Festival. Our only let down during the season was a Division II rating at this event.
Our last competition was at East Kentwood High School, on artificial turf, and an absolutely awesome home stand. The Rebels saved their best for last, and again, finished in first place for Class D.
October 22nd was the annual Marching Mania Concert back at home. What a night. The 6th Grade Band was able to play a couple of songs, followed by the Cadet Rebel Band. The 7th and 8th graders blew away the audience with three tunes. Then the High School broke in and blasted through their show.
