Spring Programs
A kickoff was held on April 19, 2008 at the Godfrey-Lee Early Childhood Center. Many families attended and were able to meet the teachers and support staff. They were also able to experience a variety of the types of activities which were planned for the spring sessions.

Storytime
The families who attended the four week session of storytime joined instructors on a journey through literacy. Together they hopped through Five Green and Speckled Frogs, followed along with Five Little Ducks and entered Bill Martin Jr.'s magical world in Brown Bear, Brown Bear. Along with the wonderful stories, the families were also able to extend their learning through craft projects.

Messy Art
The families who joined the messy art session received an experience unlike any other. Each week the families were encouraged to play and explore with a variety of materials - not all which would be classified as art materials. The participants, from the youngest to the oldest, enjoyed the many tactile experiences that were provided.

Kids in the Kitchen
The families who had the opportunity to join the Kids in the Kitchen session experienced a real treat! Each week, they had the chance to cook then sample their creations. From healthy snacks and desserts to a complete healthy meal, these families all enjoyed their time spent together learning about healthy eating.

Spring into Science
The children and their families were given the opportunity to explore the world around them by utilizing their five senses. Together with their parents, the children planted flowers, went on a nature walk and scavenger hunt for items found in nature, created bird feeders, superballs and experimented with different materials and made slime.
Music Makers
Making music has never been such fun! Children and their families utilized a variety of materials to create music. From striking instruments, like pots and pans and tambourines to plucking instruments, such as guitars, each child and their caregiver was given the opportunity to express themselves through music.
